ナマステ～
今日はカトマンズからポカラという街に移動します。カトマンズから約２００km。直線距離からするとそこまで遠くないのですが、道路状況が悪いため、７～８時間かかる予定です。
Namaste.
Today, I’m going to go to a place called Pokhara. It is approximately 200 km from Kathmandu. 200 km does not seem so far but due to the road condition, it is expected to take 7-8 hours to reach.
カトマンズからポカラまで８００ルピー。800 rupees from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
予めホステルを通じて予約しておいたバスに乗ります。早朝７時出発、ホステルのオーナーが朝ごはんを用意してくれていて感謝。そしてバス乗り場まで案内してくれました。長旅に備えて買っておいたみかんとお菓子をバッグに詰め、いざ出発。
I got on the bus which I booked the seat through the hostel the day before. Departure at 7 am. I was glad that the owner of the hostel prepared breakfast for me even though it’s outside of their breakfast hours. Then he walked me to the bus stop. I put oranges and snacks for the long trip in my backpack. Now let’s go!
美味しいカフェラテが飲めてホッ。So relieved o have a nice cup of cafe latte.
バスは満席です。出発して２時間後位に１回目のトイレ休憩。さらに２時間後に２回目のトイレ休憩、お昼にはレストランで３０分の昼食休憩がありました。
The bus was full. We had the first toilet break two hours after we left, then the second one in another 2 hours. Around noon, we stopped at a restaurant and had lunch.
そこまでお腹空いてなかったので、ビュッフェから１品だけ選んで昼食。I was not very hungry so I just had one dish out of the buffet.
そしてたいした遅れもなく、３時前に無事ポカラに到着！
The bus arrived at Pokhara at 3 pm without not much delay.

早速待機しているタクシーに交渉。お決まり通りふっかけてくるので、近くで同じくタクシーを探している様子の女性に、タクシー代シェアしませんかと声を掛け、タクシーに乗りこみます。
I caught one of the taxi drivers and started haggle. Of course he said so much more than it should be. I found a girl who was also looking for a taxi and offer if we could share one. She agreed and we got on the taxi.

１５分程でホステルに到着。ポカラ湖が目の前！カトマンズみたいに砂埃も排気ガスも無いし、空気の味がする～！そして超のどか。ふう。風邪で絶不調の体が喜んでるのが分かります。
ホステルも清潔で綺麗。テンションが上がります。荷物を置いて散策に出ます。
I arrived at the hostel in 15 minutes. I see Pokhara lake right in front of the hostel. There is no pollution, nor dust like in Kathmandu. I inhale, and exhale. I can smell air. The town is so tranquil. I can feel that my body is happy!
The hostel is very clean and well decorated. I instantly got hyped up. As soon as I dropped off my backpack I went outside to wander round.

途中で見つけたカフェでのんびりします。パソコンも持ってきていたので、結局夕日が落ちてくる時間までまったりして過ごしました。
Stopped by the cafe just by the lake. I brought my laptop with me so I ended up spending there until sunset.

まだ熱があり体の節々が痛いですが、ポカラで良くなりそう。ポカラに来てよかったー。
I still have fever and pains all over my body but I already started to feel better. I’m glad I came to Pokhara.
で、そうそう。ポカラってポカリみたい。ポカリスエットと何か関係あるのでは、とググってみました。
まずポカラとは、ネパール語で湖という意味のポカリから来ているそうです。ふむふむ、ほらやっぱり湖とポカリスエットって関係ありそう。ポカリスエットの製造元である大塚製薬のサイトをチェック。ありました。ありました。
「語感の軽い明るい響きを持つ言葉としてつけたもので、特別な意味はありません。」
え？特別な意味はない？そっかそっか。。（残念）
