熱も下がり、元気になりました！元気になったらトレッキングだー！
と思ってたけど、どうしよう。。
病み上がりで行くのも不安だし、喉も完璧じゃないし。行くならトレッキングシューズレンタルしないといけないな。ツアーを申し込む旅行社も探さなきゃ。（いや、短いトレッキングならガイドとか全然必要ないのですが。）どうしよ。。せっかくネパールまで来て、ポカラまで来てトレッキングしないなんて、沖縄に来て海を見ない、みたいなものだよな。皆に素敵なヒマラヤ見たよーって言いたいし。でも、正直面倒くさい。というか気力がない。それに、やっぱり無理は禁物よね。。。

My fever is gone! Now trekking time!
Well, that’s what I was thinking. I’m still thinking. But I don’t know..I just recovered. Still feel a little irritation on my throat. I need to rent a pair of trekking shoes and I also find a good travel agency that I can get a proper tour and support. (You don’t really need especially if you go short trek.) What should I do.. Not doing any trekking in Pokhara is like not going to the beach in Okinawa, right? I want to tell everyone that I saw Himalayas. But I admit that I don’t really have energy to do all of that including preparation. And you should not push yourself too much. Safety comes first.
という訳ではないですが、ホステルで出会った中国人の女の子と一緒に、ヒマラヤが見えるという、丘の上の「日本山妙法寺」を訪れることに。ワールドピースパゴダと呼ばれていますが、日蓮宗系の宗教法人が建てたお寺です。
So I decided to visit Nipponzan-Myōhōji also called “World Peace Pagoda” with a Chinese girl that I met at the hostel. You can view the Himalayas when the weather is good and clear. As you can tell by the name, it was build by the Japanese monk.
実は、初日にホステルからぼーっと湖を眺めていた時、湖の向こうの山の上に見えていて、お寺かなあと気になっていたのです。中国人の彼女、名前何だっけ。太陽の陽の文字が入ってたのは覚えているけど。陽ちゃんとしておきます。（ごめんなさい。陽ちゃん。。）
I was wondering what it was as I was looking at it from the hostel when I first arrived at Pokhara. The Chinese girl, gosh what was her name..I jremember the part of her name had “陽 (yo)” which means the sun. Well, let me call her Yo-chan for now. (I’m sorry Yo-chan.)
陽ちゃんは中国の日系企業で働いていて、日本語がとても上手。久しぶりに日本語での会話で変な感じでしたが、楽しかったです。中国人の観光客は結構どこでも見かけますが、ポカラでは特に目立っていました。聞くと今日２月１６日は春節だそうで、中国人にとってビザなしで気楽に行ける数少ない国のひとつであるネパールは、人気の場所だそうです。そう言えば、カトマンズで観光業をし ている中国人の友人も、顧客はほとんど中国人だと言ってたっけ。
She said that she works at a Japanese company in China. She spoke very good Japanese so we spoke in Japanese which made me feel kind of strange after a while I had been away from Japan. I enjoyed it. You see Chinese tourists everywhere but I found particularly many in Pokhara. She told me it’s Chinese new year as known as spring festival so people take vacations and come to Nepal which is one of the popular destinations for Chinese people where they can go without visa. In fact, my Chinese friend who runs a travel agency in Kathmandu said that his main customers are Chinese.
陽ちゃんから、私がどういうきっかけで世界旅をしてるのか、親からは何か言われないのか、仕事はどうした（する）のか。など興味深く聞かれました。彼女は２０代後半でしたが、親からの結婚のプレッシャーはあるが、お金をためてもっと旅行がしたいと言っていました。
She was very interested to know why and what made me decide to do this traveling. She asked me if my parents say anything about it. What did or do about my job. She is late in her 20’s and she said she has pressures from her parents about marriage but she wants to save money and travel as much as she can.
ワールドピースパゴダ。湖の向こうにあるので、タクシーで丘のふもとまで行き、そこからお決まりの坂を上ります。
So to the world peace pagoda, we took a taxi to the bottom of the mountain, then we climbed the steps as you usually do when you go to temples. Temples are on the top of hill or the mountain.
ここでもお寺の中では靴を脱ぎます。You take off your shoes inside the temple.

残念ながらヒマラヤは見られませんでした。もやがかかってて、目をどんなにこらしても全然ダメ。私が残念がってると、陽ちゃんが、こないだ朝早くにホステルから見えたよ、と言って写真を見せてくれました。早起きは三文の徳とはこのことですね。陽ちゃん偉い。
この後、ネパール料理をまだ食べていないという陽ちゃんの為に、ネパール料理のお店へ。
We couldn’t see the Himalayas. It was hazy the whole time. It was impossible even if I tried my best to see. As I got a little disappointed, Yo-chan kindly showed me a picture. She said she could see them from the hostels the other day. It was early in the morning and the sky was very clear that day. Ah yes, this is “The early bird catches the worm.” Good job Yo-chan.
We went to the Nepali restaurant for Yo-chan who has never had Nepali food.
すごくまっすぐで可愛い人でした。She was honest and very lovely person.
ネパールの定食？ダルバード。ダル（豆のスープ）とタルカリという野菜カレーやピクルス、カードというヨーグルトで出来た付け合わせで出来ています。Dal bhat. It composed of dal(lentil soup), talkari (begetable curry), pickles.
これは野菜のハンバーグみたいなものでした。Forgot the name but it was sort of vegetable hamburger.
ちなみに、彼女は一人旅でしたが、中国では一人旅をする人が増えていて、とりあえず現地に行けば友達ができるから、と言っていました。秘訣は、wechatというアプリらしいです。名前は聞いたことあるのですが、旅先でそこにいる人と情報交換したり、合流して一緒に観光したり食事をしたりするそうで、私と一緒にいる間も、ちょくちょくやりとりをしていました。ちなみに、春節には上司からお年玉がもらえるらしく、それもwechat payの機能でちょうど受け取ったんだよ、と見せてくれました。お年玉も羨ましいけどwechatも便利そう。
It was her solo trip. She said that more and more Chinese people go for solo trip today. You can always meet other travelers and interact with them through the app called wechat. Also you can join them for a trip or dinner. She said that people get money form their boss for the new year through the app. You can easily transfer money using it.
やるな中国。タイでも思ったのですが、Uber（ウーバー）など、こんなに便利なアプリが先進国の日本では色々な規制があって使えない、あるには浸透していないよな。
いや、色々不便があるから民間のこういう便利がツールが浸透するのだろうか。。
とりあえず、今日もヒマラヤ見られず。こんなにも近くにあるのに。

Wow, good job China. Made me wonder like I did also in Thailand, why aren’t these apps such as Uber and wechat popular in Japan…? Or, probably they get popular because they don’t have alternatives..?
Anyway, we couldn’t get to see himalayas yet today. How come? They’re massive and this close.
